sunrise sustainable village

Designing within this unique enclave meant working in sympathy with the sunrise goal of leaving a gentle ecological footprint.

awaken designs oversaw the creation of all communal areas for the 172 plot village including two club houses and attached facilities such as tree-top barbeque pavilions, decadent infinity pools and changing facilities that evoke the classic surf clubs of the 1950s.

As the hub of the village, the Springs Club needed to provide a setting where people feel free to enjoy time with family and friends. Visitors to the Club are taken back to childhood holidays where barbeques scent the breeze and the beach is just beyond the sand dunes. Its design is based on old-style surf pavilions: high ceilings, exposed beams, natural timbers and cedar louvres. The selection of colours includes dark blue, the colour of the sky and sea, and deep red like the sap of the native bloodwood trees.

The overall effect is unhurried, casual and natural – all designed to set people at ease.
